The Gravity Well[1] or Black Hole, is an enemy from Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved that carried into the following sequels. They resemble a red circle in the First game of the series. A color changing, more complex circle in the second. Finally, a blue circle with multiple layers in the third.
Behaviour[]
When this enemy enters the stage, it won't really move much. It simply hovers around the grid slowly until a bullet hits it.
When the player shoots this enemy, it will trigger and begin to suck enemies along with the player's ship into it. The player needs to shoot it enough times to kill it, in a sort of timely manner. If too many enemies get sucked into the gravity well, it will explode, and release a swarm of protons. As the player shoots the gravity well, it will increase the amount of enemies that need to be sucked in before it explodes. The player must shoot it from a short distance to get the most accuracy, since the gravity well bends the bullet's path making it go around it if shot from a distance. In both states, the well kills the player on collision. The more enemies that are consumed by the gravity well, the more score it will grant, and the more geoms it will drop.
