- "Score as many points as you can with three lives"
- —Description from Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.
Evolved is a mode originally introduced in Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.
It was later revamped in Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 to accommodate the new score multiplier system, which involves collecting Geoms. The original mode is now known as Retro Evolved.
Evolved returns in Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions where it makes many different appearances in Adventure Mode as well as in classic mode.
Gameplay[]
The player starts the game with 3 lives and 3 Bombs, and the player can gain new lives and bombs by scoring specific amounts of points. The intervals are the score at which you gained the latest life, multiplied by ten:
e.g. 100,000 > 1 000,000 > 10,000,000 > 100,000,000 and so on. The difficulty increases the longer a game goes on, which means that the player can gain as many extra bombs and lives as their skill at the game allows.
Enemies spawn randomly and at random intervals, ranging from 1 to 5 seconds, depending on how many are on-screen presently. However, after some time, enemies will start to spawn in droves from the 4 corners of the map.
Enemies will also spawn in a circle around the player at rare intervals, while this does not happen very often, it can catch the player by surprise, so be vigilant at all times.
Tips[]
- The corners of the map along with the 4 walls between them, must be avoided since enemies can spawn without warning, often times right on top of the player, leaving very little time to dodge them.
- When enemies spawn around you in a circle, focus on one direction, shoot, fly out through that hole and dodge the remaining enemies until you have thinned out their numbers.
